Christmas Travels

Hellooooooo strangers!  Heres a crap load of pics and some stories about each of the places me, kyle, alexa and chloe traveled to over our 3 week christmas break...

"madhouse hostel" dinner table

First we went to Prague, the capital of Czech Republic. SO FUN. we stayed in theeee coolest hostel (or living situation in general) that ive ever seen. So many young adventurous fun nice people to meet, and we all went out with them every night. Also very cheap, and beautiful! We went to see the John Lennon wall which is this space where anyone can write or drag or tag this big wall.. it was pretty cool. The bridges and hotdogs were the best.

Then we visited kyle in florence, italy! so so cool to just BE in italy. the pasta, pizza and paninis were by far the best thing about this place. i mean besides the architecture and da vinci and blah blah blah. it was pretty similar to granada (i thought) but bigger and richer.

Veniiiiiice. I lost my camera at this point so didnt take so many pictures :/ Venice was kind of boring but super pretty, unlike anything id seen before. again, great food. we stayed in a really creepy hostel haha. you win some you lose some i guess.

Next was christmas time in paris! Paris was awesome. So big and so many things to see. The eiffel tower was SICK. 700 and something steps just to get to the middle. We stayed in an apartment that we rented so it felt homie and kyle's super funny friend Will stayed with us too. It was a fun family away from home :)

We went to a christmas eve mass in the Notre Dame! This huge gorgeous cathedral. There was so many people, it felt super sacred.

That 2 towered building is the notre dame. And the streets of paris!

During christmas the eiffel tower has a little light show every hour! It was cool :)

View from the eiffel tower...

other view from the eiffel tower :)

Kyle and Will made us a christmas dinner that was surprisingly delicious. The day was a super fun day but it didnt feel like christmas really. Definitely my last christmas away from home!

Arc de triomphe!

We ate alottttt of crepes, in lots of countries. And even more waffles with nutella!

We visited some catacombs- like a massive underground gravesite. It was kinda creepy.

Paris at night!

Alexa as a chili pepper.

There were always cool things happening in the subways and on the metro, but this impromptu orchestra was by far the coolest.

Ok so then we went to London for new years. Also a super rad and novel place to be. Here is the big ben! (that clock tower) We also went to westminster abbey. We had an awesome new years on some huge bridge with 1000's of people watching a fireworks show. Unnnnnforgettable.

The queens palace! Not gonna lie, kind of a let down. There were no silent guards in red suits and tall black hats that you could mess with, like the mary-kate and ashley movies had taught me.

The london eye!

The london bridge. Also a let down.. its kind of boring, no offense. Only cuz it was right next to the coolest bridge ever....

This bridge! Called the tower bridge (obvi)

So this is the Tower of London. The tall part right in the middle is called the white tower, and its super significant to my mom in a symbolic sort of way. Being there was really really cool :) love you mom!

Love herrrr!

Stupid harry potter stuff. "Platform 9 and 3/4"

We went to abbey road! Walked right across the crosswalk that the beatles did on their album cover. The whole thing was a pretty ridiculous process because realistically it was just a crap load of tourists blocking an actual functioning road.

Last stop: portugal. Suuuper cool place. Like a mix between granada and san francisco. They had trolleys and a fake golden gate bridge and hills but also castles and old cathedrals and stuff. Cheap place, great hostel. Good time :)

We went to a really cool aquarium and saw all sorts of stuff! giant turtles being the best.

AND WENT TO A REAL LIVE CASTLE. i felt like a little kid it was so fun!

Soooo yea traveling was really fun. Just cool to be in all these cool novel places that ive always heard about. 3 weeks of non stop travel is rough though, i was glad to get home to granada :) The truth is i love life here! I feel super super lucky to have met the greatest new friends, and im actually really enjoying the challenge of school. Im more confident in spanish even though im still pretty terrible. And im still preeeetty freakin stoked on Alberto which is super fun :) Love you guys A LOT a lot a lot. Happy new year :)
